HUTT RIVER BOARD
The Hutt River Board met on Tuesday There were present Mr. W. T Strand M?L V-vf G°stel°w. J. Mitchell, the cerk (Mr. A. J. Gearing), and the engineer (Mr. Sladden).
Letters were received from the Lower Hutt Borough Council and the Lower Hutt night on a Sunday, and on Anzac Day. The board replied that the carting was Jone at the urgent request of the Public Works Department, which needed the
material for emergency work. The carting during the night and on holidays had now ceased.
It was decided to have put in hand immediatelj the deepening and clearing of the outlet of the Waiwhetu stream a work which was described by the chairman as the most urgent the board had in connection with the river. The Public Works Department have already been asked to give an estimate for the work and if the total cost to the board will not exceed £600 the Department is to be asked to do the work;
