LONDON, Ist May. O. i,. Brandreth, formerly chairmaa of JNersag Ltd., charged with converting £43,000 of the company's funds, was sentenced at the Old Bailey to fouryears' imprisonment, and was ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution.
According to the prosecution, Brandreth, before disappearing, drew a cheque for £54,000, bought a house, and lived there under an assumed name. He also shaved off his moustache and purchased a motor-far- and furniture, all with Treasury notes. His intention was to begin life again as J. Gordon Bell.
