LOWER HUTT ELECTION
MR, STRAND GRATIFIED
Interviewed to-day, Mr. AY. T. Strand, who is just vacating the office of Mayor o£ Lower Hutt, said that, he was most gratified with the result of yesterday's poll. No clearer approval of the past policy of the council could possibly have been given. That the majority of the ratepayers and citizens of the borough approved of the work of the council was most clearly shown by tlio fact tliiit tlicy were all returned by such v iine majority. The selection of two new councillors of high standing in the professional and business community was very pleasing. It was quite evident that the people had risen above the petty matters that unfortunately were brought into tho campaign and had realised the true worth of the past services even though the result of such services was not yet fully evident.
