LONDON, Ist May. Cricket-was-officially opened in cold, cloudy weather-at Lord's. Nottingham had the distinction of first trying the experiment recommended by Marylebono, with a wicket an inch higher and an inch wider, which will be used in all inter-county mutches this season, with the object of brightening the game.
