FLOWER GARDEN. Plant out as available any hardy annuals and perennials. Plant out violas and pansies. Cut down perennial plants as they finish flowering. Lift and divide Michaelmas daisies, shastas, perennial phlox, and other plants of the same habit. Place scrubby branches by sweet peas as soon as they are through the ground. Clean up all beds and borders and keep weeds og paths. Top-dress lawns. VEGETABLE GARDEN. Trench or deeply dig all vacant ground as early as possible, giving a good dressing of lime. Earth up cabbage and cauliflower plants. Burn up all rubbish unfit for buryi"g< Earth up celery and leeks. Cut down asparagus as soon as it commences to change colour, and clean .up tho bed. Get ahead with all preparatory work for spring sowing aud planting. A good weathering of newly-dug ground is as good as a dressing of manure. '
