WOOLWORTHS' PROFITS.
AVoohvovths, Ltd., Australia, after providing iToOO for taxation, reports net prolit of .l"-'2,817 for the year ended 31sl January last. Preference shareholders receive S por cent, and bonus of 2 p.c., absorbing £1270, while dividend of 25 p.c. on ordinary shares requires £15,791. leaving £5755 to be carried forward. Turnover, says the report, shows a substantial increase. New branches were opened in Sydney and Brisbane, and a separate business established in Perth. Further branches are to be opened. Since accounts were closed IG.SIHi ordinary £1 shares have been issued at a premium of £2, and over-applied for. Preference shares alone arc listed on 'Change.
