Average entries featured to-day's metropolitan market, and there was a good sale in all sections of sheep, with fat cattle a little easier.

Store Sheep.—The lambs were mostly small and backward, and the ewes aged and inferior. BoHi classes sold freely at recent values. Wethers were about ua numerous as the other classes, and the quality was better in comparison. Good ewe lambs made 2Cs to 27s lid, medium ewe lambs 23s 6d to 25s (id, ordinary owe lambs 21s to 22s Cd; ordinary wether lambs ISs to 20s 6d, inferior wether lambs, 10s to 17s 6d: cull lambs 12s to 14s; good m.s. lambs 23s 3d to 245, medium m.s. lambs l!)s Od to 21s 6d; good two-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes to 35s Cd, good four and six-tooth halfbred ewes to 36a,. medium four, six, and eight-tooth halfbred ewes 2Ss to 30s, ordinary four, six, and eight-tooth halfbred ewes 25s Cd to 27s 6d; sound-mouthed halfbred owes 23s to 255, failing-mouthed halfbred ewes 20s to 225, aged and inferior halfbred ewes to 12s Gd, extra good halfbred wethers 2Ss 6d to 31s, good halfbred wethers 2(is to 28s, ordinary halfbred wethers, 22s to 245. I'at Lambs.—A small entry of 1175 head and a free sale. Extra prime heavy lambs made to 34s 7d, prime 29s 6d to 32s Od. medium 27s 3d to 29s 3d, light 25s 3d to 275, store 23s 9d to 255. Fat Sheep.—An average entry of ten races and a good sale, export rates being fully maintained. Extra prime wethers made to 38s 10d, prime wethers, 32s Oil to 35s Cd. medium wethers 29s Gd to 325. light wethers 255-'Gd to 295; extra prhm: ewes to 33s lOd, prime cues 25s Od to '295; medium ewes 22s 6d to 255. light ewes IDs to 225; aged ewes 15s to ISs. Fat Cattle.—A heavy cntrv of 550 head, which included a North Island consignment of 5S head of moderate quality. The class of entry geuerally was below standard. Values were up to 20s a head lower than last week. Good steer beef made from 41s to 44s per 1001b, extra good to 40s, medium quality 3Ss to 40s. heavy 37s Od to 41s, good heifer 40s to 42s lid, "good cow 34s to 3Ss, ami plain down to "3()s. Vealcrs.—A good sale, liest 12 to IS months made to £10 Ss Od. good vealcrs £C to £7 10s, others £4 to £5 Mscalves, 30s to 40s. Store Cattle.—A good demand. ,\ line of 3 to 4-year steers made £11 to £11 10s cows up to £6 10s. bulls to £12. Dairy Cat'tlc—A small entry witli improved prices. Pest springing cows, made to £17 10s. medium £12 to £14 10s. others £9 to £11 ]os, best springing heifers to £12 10s, medium £9 to £10 10s, others £0 10s to £8. Fat Pigs.—A good sale for both porkers and baconers, prices being better than last week.
