The Prime Minister, Mr. Bruce, at the conference of representatives of coal owners and the Miners 1 Federation, appealed to both sides to reopen the mines and settle tho differences afterwards. A full investigation would be made by a .Royal Commission. Mr. Bruce announced with a view to procuring peace that the prosecution' of John Brown,' the coal magnate, for. promoting a look-out, would not be proceeded with.. ■-..■.'■■, •
