PURCHASE FOR NATION
SETTING OF STONEHENGE
British Official Wiroless. (Received 30th March, 11 a.m.)
RUGBY, 28th March,
Although the land on which the famous Druidical remains at Stonehengc has long been preserved as a place of historic interest, there has been some danger that the landscape setting of 650 acres in which Stonehenge stands might pass into the hands of builders. A public appeal for funds to purchase this land for the National Trust has met with a splendid response, and the sum necessary has now been subscribed.
