EMPIRE THEATRE, ISLAND BAY.
A special holiday programme has been arranged for patrons at the Empire Theatre tonight. The principal feature is "Laugh, Clown Laugh," starring Lon Chancy as Tito, the clown, who rises from a strolling player to a metropolitan star. But his heart is broken with a hopeless love. ' Tlio cast supporting Chancy includes Loretta Young, Nils Asthcr, Owen Loe, Bernard Selgel, and Cissy Fitzgerald. Richard Barthelmcss has the lead in the second attraction, "Scarlet Seas." Never before has Barthelmcss played a moro stirring role. A most thrilling scene is enacted when Barthelmcss rescues a girl from a blazing schooner. "Do Gentlemen Snore?" starring Max Davidson, will also be shown, as well as tho latest news reel.
