LODGE MEETINGS

The fortnightly meeting of Marueuui Lodge No. 12-1, 1.0.0.V., was hold at Miramar on 20th March, Bro. K. C. Sathorley, N.G., presided over a large attendance. The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows: N.G., Bro. Kvans; V.G., Bro. Haley; recording secretary, Bro. ISUiott; 1'". ace, Bro. Hogan; treasurer, Bro. Pearce. During the evening Bro. ICvans kindly offered to give a set of quoits and Bro. Sellars cribbage boards, both donations being heartily appreciated. On behalf of the lodge Bro. Sathcrley, N.G., presented Bro. J. Davis with a set of aluminium ware in view of his approaching marriage. Bro. Phillips was congratulated on his again, winning the senior ritual badge competition. After the close of business a very enjoyable evening was spout at cards. The fortnightly meeting of lleretauuga Lodge, No. 115, was held at I'elono on 10th March. Bro. K. il. Nioliol presided over a fair attendance. Sick pay was passed for payment to several brothers. The election of officers for next term resulted: N.G., Bro. Laidlaw; V.G., Bro. Poston; rec. sec, Bro. Binns; Fin. See., Bro. Bugg; treasurer, Bro. Pearson. Koutine business having concluded, lodge was closed, and the brothers entertained Star of Petone with cards and supper. The" iisual meeting of Cleveland Lodge, No. 13, 1.0.0. F., was held in Waldie s Hall, Brooklyn, on Wednesday, 13th March. Bro. N. Cooper, N.G., presided over a fair attendance of members and visitors. Official visits were paid by Bro. F. Jones, D.D.G.M., and District Lodge officers, also by officers and members of Maraenui Lodge. Visitors also included Bro. Taylor, P.G., of Otaki Lodge; Bro. H Hardbam, P.G., of Zealandia Lodge; Bros. Andrews and Miller, of Southern Cross Lodge; and Bro. Harill, of Wildey Lodge. One member was reported on eick list and relative sick pay passed. In view 0 of the senior ritual competition being held on the same evening the lodge terminated business early. The competition resulted in a well-deserved win for Bro. Phillips, of Maraenui Lodge, Bro. Miller, of Zealandia, being runner-up. Southern Cross Lodge No. 24, l.O.O.l)., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting recently, Bro. W. J. Jarvis, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Six brothers were reported on the sick list, and payment was passed accordingly. Only urgent business was dealt with to enable the meeting to adjourn for a, social eveniug. Dancing was indulged in, many Rebekah members and friends being present. Brother K. Tahiwi, P.G., at the piano, contributed excellent music _ The fortnightly meeting of Rabin Kebekah Lodge, No. 49, 1.0.0.P., N.Z was held on 13th March, Sister G. Gray, IS Xx., presiding over a good attendance. One sister was initiated into the Order. Accounts were passed for payment, correspondence received, and invitation accepted. The second nomination of officers was held. Bro. Hill.'N.G., of Wildey, was present. _ r , The regular meeting of Wildey Lodge, No. 107, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held m the Masonic Hall, Island Bay, on 20th March. Bro. Hill, N.G., presided over a large atteudauue of members and visitors. Une brother was reported sick, and three new members were initiated. 'Ihe following were elected officers for the ensuing term: N.G., Bro. Crombie; V.G., Bro. Harding; Fin. Sec., Bro. Oxeriham; Rec. Sec, Bro. Havill; treasurer, Bro. Danies. Bro. Nind, P.G., P.C.P., presented Bro. Kelly, with the 100 yards challenge cup won at the recent picnic, and Bro. Brown with Past Grand's Collar in recognition of services to lodge and Order. A visit was received from Bro. Phillips, P. 0.-., and members of Maraenui Lodge. The junior ritual badge competition for Wellington district was held, resulting in Bro. Milford, of Maraenui Lodge, being declared the winner. . The judges wore Bro. W. Smith. P.G., Cleveland Lodge,, and Bro. Hardham, P.G., Zealandia Lodge. After business had concluded an enjoyable evening was spent. •The Lily of the Valley Kebekah Lodge, No. 57, 'held their, fortnightly meeting at 2GG, Grauville road, Heretaunga, on 25th March. Two new members were initiated. The officers for the ensuing term were elected. At the next meeting the elected officers will be installed in their various stations.

The second meeting of Kupe Lodge 149 of 1.0.0. F. was held in the Methodist Hall, Kilbirnie, recently. Bro. J. Rice, N.G., presided over a large attendance. The following brothers were present and spoke:—Bro. W. J. Jarvis, N.G., Southern Cross Lodge 21; Bro. J. H. West, P.G.C.P., Port Nicholson. Bro. JMeech brought fraternal greetings from Waipukurau Lodge. Bro. Lee, representing the D.D.G.M., also Bpoke. The fortnightly meeting of Southern Cross Lodge, .No. 24, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held recently. The Noble Grand, Bro. W. J. Juyvis, presided over a good attendance. Six members were reported on the sick list, and relative sick-pay and various other accounts were passed for payment. Bro. A. T. West, P.G., the lodge's delegate on the United Friendly Societies Dispensary Board, gave a lengthy report j'egarding the board's recent meeting.
