EASTER CARNIVAL AT PETONE.
One of the chief holiday attractions for Wellington people. is the beach carnival at Petone, which commenced this morning under the auspices of the Petone Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club. The decision to hold a carnival was only recently made by the club, but in the short time available it has been successful in securing the services of many of the best showmen of New Zealand. Pride of place among the aide shows will no doubt be taken by 'the troupe of Levin and Obiki Maoris who will entertain throughout the carnival with music and singing. The special attraction to be staged for Monday is a scries of rowing races off the beach. The carnival will conclude on Saturday next.
