There were twelve entries for the first race for the Josephine Brady Inter-club Cup (14ft and under class). The Kewpie had trouble at the start, and did not get away with the others, who presented a fine sight as they stood up the inlet on the seven and a half-mile course. The absence of the visiting boats resulted in a general handicap race being staged in the morning, the starters being the Huia, Ramona, Tuakana, Opaiva, and Twink. The Ramona was the winner, with tho Huia second. In the afternoon, another general handicap was sailed, as well as a race for boats 12ft 6in and under. The freshening breeze made it necessary to start under doublereefed mainsails. . Both races were very [ keenly contested, and the finishes were exceptionally close. The events were decided over a windward and leeward course, finishing at the Kerehana Bay buoy, and they proved very interesting to the spectators as the boats were away before the wind with a free sheet and hauled on the thrash back.
