YESTERDAY'S PLAY
The seventh annual bowling I01'1™" merit under the auspices of the Lyall Jlay, Seatoun, and Hataitai Bowling Clubs opened on Good Friday on the bcalonn, Hataitai. and Lyall Bay greens Inirly rinks in all competed, including one from Masterton. The greens were in splendid order, and, though the weather was dull throughout the day, with one or two showers, play was carried out according to programme. The Hataitai Club green is the headquarters of the tournament this year, and the officers are: 1 resident, Mr. D. Ardell; vice-presidents, Messrs. B. F. Gardner and G. Noad; committeee, Messrs. A. E. Wells, J. 0 Gorman, J. Kershaw, L. G. Brown, W. Marshall, and C. B. Ellis; chief umpire and ■statistician, Mr. G. Hendry; hon secretary, Mr. B. T. Martin.
