SEGRAVE AT MIAMI
MISS ENGLAND WINS FIRST HEAT
Australian Press Association. NEW YORK, 20th March: . At Miami Beach, Miss England won the first twelve-mile heat in the speedboat record contest, when Miss America VII. was forced out in- the third two- 1 milo lap with a broken quadrant, after averaging approximately 54 miles per hour. Gar Wood, who was leading before tho mishap, expects to be ready to en.--tor tho final heat to-morrow. The best ho can do seems to be to tie with Major Sogravc, and that is not certain, unless Segravc breaks down himself. To-day's events wero purely competitive, duo to tho sharp curves. To-mor-row record attempts will be made on a mile straight-way course on the Indian Eivcr. ______________
