Last »i;;ht there was a merry gallim-ing of seamen as the guests ot Miss V. Boesley at the Sailors' Friend Society, when outgoing and incoming men were entertained. -Encores were frequent. Light refreshments were dispensed by the helpers. The performers were tlie Misses M. C'resswell, B. Goodwin, M. Grain, Headittii, Peoples, and V. Boesley, and Messrs. Fowler, Entwhistle, M'Mahon, Sand ford. Miss V. Boesley was at the piano. Some special work was.done in the competitions, prizes coming from the hostess, anil went to the Pakeha, Zealandie, and Port Melbourne.
