MAIL OBfiER SYSTEM OPPOSED
(By Telegraph'.—Brese Association.)
NELSON, This Pay. The effect upon New Zealand traders of the C.O.D. parcels system was discussed at the conference of the New Zealand Federation of Drapers, Clothiers, and Boot Retailors, when the latest returns received from the Post Office disclosed the fact that the total value of C.O.D. parcels received in the Dominion has jumped from £12,000 in 1924 to £154,000 in 1928. ,;..;
It was resolved that a telegram be sent to the Postmaster-General Urging upon the Government again to remove the gross injustico inflicted upon New Zealand traders and manufacturers by the operation of the C.O.D. system, under which tho New Zealand Post Office acts as agent for overseas mail order houses, which contribute nothing to the national revenue of New Zealand.
