Tho theme is {adapted from St. John Hankin's successful stage play; "The Cassilis Engagement," Ueplct-,, Ing :a charming little cabaret danseuso who; becomes engaged to .a 1 wealthy young man,: and whose mother-objects to the union. How tho schemoing •, mother at., last prevents her, son marrying makes this picture ono of tho most unusual and exciting British lllnis yet produced. Mabel iFoulton, ono of .Britain's most popular and talented stars, will make her debut to Wellington audiences in the role of the Vivacious cabaret star. Much comedy is supplied by Barbara Gptti who plays the part of Mabel Pdulton's mother, with Maurice Braddell as the wealthy young man. The rest of the cast includes 'Janet: Alexander, Dorothy Bartlam, Gibb M'Laughlln, and Georgo Bel- I lamy. The settings embrace tho gay night clubs and the activities of London's elite, in addition-to'.the. exclusive homes of Britain's titled social sets.. .'..The '.music this week is especially noteworthy, the overture by tho Orchestra,De Luxe being (fraud Selection from "La Traviata". • (Verdi)i Einanucl Aarons* will present, on. tho'Wurlitzer (assisted by the orchestra) "(Juerlda," a delightful Spanish tango*fox-trot. Presented on the stago is the entr'acte novelty "Tho Two Bullfinches," played by piccolo and xylophone, this number being accompanied by tho Orchestra Do Luxe, Miss Jean Turner and Mr. Arthur Eaton playIng the piccolo and xylophone.
