NOTHING NEW
BALFOUK TRADE EEPORT
Australian Press Association. (Received 13th March, 8 a.m.)
LONDON, 12th March,
The Balfour Trade Committee's report does not inspire enthusiasm in any quarter. Few papers comment, and those which do hold that the inquiry lasted too long, the main report offers nothing new, and the minority report drifts into socialistic generalisations. The fact is recalled that two members of the original Commission resigned and one died. The "Financial News" regards as the outstanding passage that in which the majority believe that the basic industries still have within themselves the power of regeneration without external aid.
