MAIL STEAMER LATE
The mail steamer Tahiti' arrived at Wellington at 5.30 a.m. . to-day, twenty-four hours late' on her voyage from San Francisco. Heavy seas were experienced during the greater part of the trip across the Pacific, and if the weather had been favourable at Raror tonga the vessel would have arrived at Wellington at her usual time. , She arrived at Baro tonga on '4th March, but was unable to anchor owing, to heavy seas. On the following day the,; Tahiti was able to load her usual .cargo of fruit, and she resumed her" voyage to Wellington on 6th March.. The Tahiti is now timed to leave Wellington at 10 o'clock to-morrow night for Sydney.
