The annual meeting of shareholders of the; United Press Association. was h'cld to-day. Mr. A. G. Henderson, chairman, presided, and 40 members were present,: .The report showed that the cable sorvice had shown a considerable increase, 986,873 words of original messages having been issued, forming a record. Cecil Loys were re-elected directors, and Mossrs. 13; Abbey Jones and IV C. List woro elected in placo of tho two retiring directors. Dunodiu was chosen as the next place o£ meeting. Sir Georgo Fenwick was elected chairman of diroctors oi! tho Press Association. At a mooting of tho Empire Press Union the president stated that invitations had been sent for twelvo dologatcs from Now Zealand for the noxt Imperial Conference.

Earle, J. Coombe, A. M'Nicol, B. J. Gilmour, and C. S. Smith. Mr. L. W. Dow was elected secretary and W. Easton auditor.
