"ThoMichlgan Kid," which will bo shown at the Kllbirnie Klnema' to-night, Is a thoroughly entertaining photoplay. Ilex Beach's novel of tho same name furnished tho story, which has been adhered to closely. It deals •' with tho adventures of a gambler In Alaska during- tho gold rush of 1898, and Is generally considered Beach's most vigorous work. Conrad Nagel appears as the gambler, a man who, despite his calling, is honest and lovable. Itenee Adoree is the girl who finds him gentle. One of the highlights of,tho film version is the escape of this pair down a river flowing through a blazing forest. The. second feature, "The Escape," .starring William Russell'and Virginia Valll, Is said to be the greatest lscrccn play of New York club life' ever produced by a motion picture studio.
