A thrilling finish was fought out in the fourth Test-match, which concluded at the Adelaide Oval to-day. The attendance was SOOO at the start, the prospect of excitement drawing the crowd. Tho weather was cooler, and a breeze ..was blowing.
Bradnian • and- • Oxenhani played bright cricket at'the start, putting on runs at a good pace, despite the closeness of the fight. In 40 minutes they had added as many runs, posting 300 in 377 minutes.
Then a dangerous change came in tho position of tho teams. Oxenhani, after making 12 in 64 minutes, was dismissed by a smart catch by Chapman. Soon, .afterwards Bradnian, who had been . .batting confidently and brightly, .was. run. out, after making 58 in 138 minutes.
Australia then wanted 29 runs and had Oldfickl and Grimmctt. at the creases. With 12 wanted Grimmett swung at one and was dismissed. Blackic, Australia's last man, .failed to score, and England had won by twelve runs. It was a memorable match. The following are tho detailed scores:— ENGLAND.
