TROTTING AT CREYTOWN
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") CARTERTON, This Day. The stewards of the South Wairarapa TrottiDg Club met at Greytown on Wednesday evening, Mr. J. F. Thompson presiding. A statement of the result of the recent trotting meeting showed a loss of £250. The chairman mentioned that this was due to the unfavourable weather experienced. The totalisator revenue was £1647, as against £2077; the gates £352 compared with £402. The expenditure also increased by £50 added to two races. The opinion was expressed by the meeting that had the weather been fine the meeting would have been very successful. As it was, the club's previous year's credit balance would be practically absorbed. Accounts totalling £211 13s 6d were passed for payment. Several alterations and additions to the programme were noted for consideration. The resignation of Mr. W. Gates, who had been a steward for eighteen years, was accepted with regret, and appreciation of his services placed on record. A vote of condolence was passed with Mr. Thompson in the loss of his brother.
