VISIT OF SCOTTISH CHIEF
CBy Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.")
DUNEDIN, This Day. Major M'Crae, a Scottish chief from the Highlands, has beon greatly impressed with the hospitality and kindness of the people of New Zealand, and he speaks in glowing terms of ,the treatment he has received on all hands in. this country.
Business in Scotland is improving greatly, according to Major M'Eae, who says that there is a most optimistic tone right, through tho country. Ho is interested in watching what effect tho extension of tho franchise to young women will have. It is sheep country up in the Highlands where ho lives, but the land tnere carries only inferior quality animals, though further down in Scotland -the quality is much, better. He had been looking roward with interest to seeing some of the rural life in Now Zealand, but Lady M'Crae's indisposition makes travelling rather arduous. The loyalty of the people of Now Zealand to the King and to the Empire has greatly impressed Major M'Eae, who is full of admiration for the pioneer settlers of this country and for tho great work which they have accomplished in a comparatively short time.
