Flanked on one sido by Broadway, tho main thoroughfare to Seatoun. and on the other by the esplanade which runs along the Lyall Bay beach, the field tapers off towards the houses in tho distance. .Near tho right of the-picture may be seen the old hillock of rotten rock, now all but demolished, which lias been a landmark for years.
