SPORT AT LOWER HUTT.
Good entries have been received for the Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club's sports meeting, to be held at the Lower Hutt Recreation Ground to-morrow evening, commencing at 6.30. This will be the last fixture before the Wellington Provincial Championship gathering, and many of Wellington's leading athletes and cyclists will be taking advantage of the meeting to have a final try-out. Among those competing will be such well-known performers as Jenkins, Fleming, Eastwood, Lander, E. B. Smith, Leech, and Ogg in the running events; Gane, Carswell, Pearee, and Mutton in the cycle races; and Misses Kench, Miller, Boyes, Stevenson, and Murray in the ladies' events. The ladies' relay race should be a particularly interesting contest. The Hutt Club now has a good ladies' relay team, and to-morrow evening they will be out to improve on past performances. Two events, the high jump and javelin, are post entry.
