INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
J'he Department of Health baa received the following, notifications of infectious diseases in the hospital districts of the Wellington health district for the week ended yesterday (the figures for the previous week being given in parentheses):— Wanganui-Horowhenua: Scarlet fever 7 (S), diphtheria 3 (0), influenza (pneumonic), 0 (2), pneumonia 0 (1). Wairarapa-Hawkes Bay: Scarlet fever 9 (9), diphtheria 11 (4), enteric fever 1 (0), influenza (pneumonic) 2 (0), erysipelas 2 (2), tuberculosis 0 (2), pneumonia 0 (3), hydatids 0 (1). Central Wellington: Scarlet fever 7 (5), diphtheria 3 (6), tuberculosis 2 (0), pneumonia 1 (2), erysipelas 2 (0), puerperal fever 1 (0), septic abortion 1 (0). Melson-Marlborough: Scarlet fever 1 (1), diphtheria 0 (2).
