CONFERENCE OF DEFENCE OFFICERS
principal of high standing on the working of tho candidate throughout the year.
INSUFFICIENT LATITUDE,
Mr. F. Milner thought that the position could not be exaggerated, as they were suffering considerably from the fact that in their secondary school curricula they had not sufficient latitude and elasticity. It seemed perfectly ridiculous that the matriculation examination should bo allowed to dominate tho forming of their curriculum. He regretted that tho matter had been referred back to the Academic Board in toto, as it was high time that they took some steps to prevent the matriculation examination from monopolising tho framing of tho educational programmo for secondary schools.
It was decided that tho, Entrance Board bo requested to devise some scheme which will enable the University to conduct a university entrance examination solely as a university cxtranco examination.
