MISS COPPLESTONE'S ATTEMPT

CHRISTCHUBCH, 26th January
Miss Lily Copplestone will travel ovorland from Ashburton to Pieton on Tuesday or Wednesday next, arid will await there a favourable opportunity to set out on her swim across Cook Strait. Mr. W. Thorns, of Te Awaite, of the well-known whaling family, will accompany Miss Copplestono in a dinghy as her chief adviser. Miss CopX)lestone will probably try a number of starting pointy and be guided by Mr. Thorns in her choice.
