MASTERTON SHOW.

The forty-second annual Show of the Masterton A. and P. Association, to be held at the beautiful Sohvay Showgrounds on 19th and 20th February, promises to be at least as successful as previous events of its- kind. The Masterton Show is probably the most popular in the Wellington district, and always attracts an excellent entry of stock and other exhibits. A schedule giving full particulars of the comprehensive list of classes is procurable free on application to the secretary, Mr. R. H. Williams, P.O. Box 40, Masterton. Entries close at 9 p.nu on Saturday, 2nd February. Several new classes and additional prizes are offered this year in the sheep section. Mr. A. P. Southey has provided a cup for the best Romney Marsh ewe lamb (open class), and Messrs. William Perry and Son have presented a. silver cup,, of a value of ten guineas, for the best Romney ram under 21 months in the open class. Additional prizes offered in the section for sheep for freezing include Wright, Stephenson, and Co.'s cup for four Down-long wool cross lambs (in the wool), and Messrs. Michie and White's prizes of £5 and £2 10s for the London judging of class 59, for four tegs. A new class is included for the best pen of four sheep under 571b, for which a challenge cup is .offered. The president of the society (Mr. W. F. M'Laren) has donated a gold medal for the champion pen of lambs in the freezing classes, to be judged in the pens by the Show judge.
