KARORI RIFLE CLUB

The following are the results of the Karori Rifle Club's competitions, which were carried out on Anniversary Day. The shooting was at all ranges from 300 yards to 1000 yards, seven shots being fired at each range. The Bcoring was high, although the wind conditions were difficult. The best all-round results were obtained by Rflmn. King with an aggregate of 190, including his handicap, and F. W. Ching^ with an aggregate of 188 off the rifle. The best single range score was 34 at 600 yards by B. Rockel.

The Upper Hutt Eifle Club fired the fourth match of the second series on Saturday at 800 yards and 900 yards. Conditions were ideal for good shooting, and good scores were the order of the day At 800 yards Rflmn. P. Wilkie registered a fine performance by just missing the: possible. He scored 49. Other good scores were: Rflmn. N. Kitchen and Rflmn. C. Whiteman, 47 each; Rflmn. B. Dunn, 44; and Rflmn. F. A. Whiteman and Rflmn. T. ■VVhiteman, 42 eaci. At 900 yards the same high standard of shooting was seen, the outstanding scores being: Rflmn. F. A. Whiteman and Rflmn. W. Collett, 47 each: Rflmn. F. Wilkie and Rflmn. T. Whiteman, 46 each; and Rflmn. H. Whiteman, 45. Rflmn. T. Wilkie, with an excellent total of 95, and Rflmn. H. Whiteman, with 85, secured legs-in for trophies in A and B class respectively.
