SHANGHAI, 25th January.

Eeports are coming in of distressing conditions in Suiyuan and Kansu. In Suiyuan, people are dying of cold and hunger so rapidly that it is impossible to effect a quick enough burial. Many have been buried in huge pits, while outside the city of Suiyuan huge hoa<ps of corpses have been devoured by wolves and dogs.

In Kansu, the missionary reports say that tho peopl- are turning to cannibalism, and ,hat it is impossible'to cope with the situation.
