WATER AND DRAINAGE
PKOVISIOX AT EASTBOURNE
The Works Committee of the Easthuurnu Borough Council iirporlcd at the meeting of the council last night that a letter had boon received from the Board of Health regarding the provision of water and drainage in Kasstboiinu; and .smrouiidiug localities. Tho committee was of the opinion that in this connection tho local bodies interested, (particularly tho Hutt County Council) should bo asked to join with tho Eastbourne Borough Council in a conference to formulate a doiinite scheme with a view to meeting the Board of Hcilth iv February. Regardin;;' tho water supply., the Mayor (Mr. H. M, Jones) stated-that in his opinion the proper body to supply the requirements w;is the Water Board. This it could do throughout tho area it covered, to the advantage of all concerned.
The recommendation of the committee was adopted by the council.
