LOCAL ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association was held last evening, Mi 1 J. C. Peacock presiding.

A welcome was extended to the chairman, who recently returned from a trip abroad. Replying, Mr. Peacock expressed himself as being satisfied with the pro gress made with the association's grounds at Miramar, and he congratulated the association upon having such an energetic committee.

In the course of a general discussion, it was mentioned that eight more hard courts would be laid, and that attention would be given to the question of seating accommodation.

It was decided to send a men's team to Christchurch to play Canterbury, on Bth and 9th February, for the Wilding Memorial Shield, which Canterbury won from Wellington last season.

The committee decided to extend; the time up to which entries for the Wellington championships, commencing on 19th January, may be received, up to 5 p.m. on 17th January,
