NOTES ON THE PLAY
In section G, soventh round, J. Hosk-' •ing (Carlton) got his sixth win by beating N. H. Nash , (Palmerston North), easily by 29 to 18. The Crawford (Karori) v. Pillrington (Hamilton) game in the seventh round was a noteworthy example of the unexpected changes that may take place in a game. On the eleventh end Pilkington was 14 to 7, and never moved oft' the 14 until tho twentieth end, when he scored 2. By this time ■Crawford' had scored. 14. On the twentieth end the score was: Crawford 21, Pilkington 18. On the ; 22nd end, Pilking's No. 3 (Fruish) drew two shots right, oh the jack, and Pilkington drew another. Tho score then read 21----all. On tho 23rd end Crawford got 3. On the twenty-fourth end, Crawford gaye the shot away to' Pilkington through unfortunately trailing the kitty, making Pilkington's score 22, and still, two behind.. -Oir th'e^twentyfifth end Crawford lay 4. Pruish, with his second .bowl,- unsuccessfully tried to trail kitty, and Pilkington also failed with his first bowl. With his second bowl Pilkington save 2, making the final score: Crawford 26, Pilkington 22.
