LITERARY NOTES
Somerset Maugham's new play, "Tho Sacred Flame," is to be produced shortly in New York, where the author has gone to attend rehearsals.
- Humbert Wolfe, the poet, holds a position in the Ministry of Labour, and represented England in Poland at tho International Labour Congress.
About a hundred medieval Papal Bulls of great historic value have been found in Leningrad among the roligious archives of the former Government. The Bulls are on artistically decorated parchment, and tho seals bear figures of the Apostles Peter and Paul.
A light opera, based on Thackeray's "The Rose and tho Ring," and composed by Christabel Mariellier, was given at the Apollo Theatre, in London. Harris Deans, the dramatic critic, also had an adaptation staged a fow years ago,- which was revived in the provinces. . . .
Harold Lloyd, the film star, is shprtly to publish his biography under the title of "An American Comedy, acted by Harold Lloyd, directed by W. W. Stout." He describes his career from his first stage appearance as a boy actor in an Omaha stock company down .to the present. '
