EVERY BIT A HERO.

There is 310 end to the stones of the intelligence and heroism of dogs. The following is the story of something that has recently happened. -j n Hungary. . In ouo of tho garden suburbs of Budapest a rnotor-lori<y.was rolling along at a brisk pace. A mail coming from tho opposite end of the road saw it from afar and admonished his dog to beware of it. The dog walked by his master's side till the danger should have passed. But before th.'it time something occurred which changod tho whole situation, .. Through an open garden gato a child's ball shot out, and the child, all unaware of the approaching ,lorry, came running after it. Tor a horrible second it seemed thafc the vehicle must pass over it, but one sharp word of command sent tho dog .dashing to tho rescue. '• , „ ; Catching the child's frock in .•' his teeth, ho hurled iOvith all his force out of the lorry's way;-but unfortunately he was unable to save himself. The front wheel passed ovor his body, injuring him so terribly that there is very little hope of his recovery. Grieved as his master is, ho cannot but foel glad and proud over au act of heroism that ;would have done credit to a human 'being. ;.■■;
