HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL
'The regular meeting of the Hutt County Council, held yesterday afternoon, was presided over by Mr.,D. R. Hoggard. The acting county clerk submitted a special report on the proposed cemetery at Pukerua Bay, and after some discussion he was instructed to make further inquiries into the matter and to gather information in-regard to the cemetery at Akatarawa. It was'reported that surveyors were at work gathering the necessary data for the proposed water supply at Belmont. ; The question of the sale of the Paekakariki crushing plant to the Public Works Department was held over for further consideration.
A letter was received from the Wellington Automobile Association asking if the council would be prepared to erect a fence along the dangerous portion of the road on the hill approaching, Plimmerton, and offering to contribute towards the eostt On the motion of Mr. Hoggard the matter was left in the hands of the county engineer and Councillor Mildenhall, who were granted power to act. The application of the Upper Hutt Borough Council for.the hire of the county roller from the Public Works Department was granted. '.■.'" ■ . , .' '
