The class of programme offered at tomorrow afternoon's carnival at Te Aro Baths is one that should draw a big attendance. 'Asa preliminary, to. the national championships, .to-morrow's gathering will be moro. than,.interesting, a"s tho periormanees of the. -.numerous competitors will serve as a guide to their prospects next month.* •"'The entrants.in the championship event comprise many of the outstanding swimmers of to-day, and numerically the fields are stronger than they have been for some years. W. Cameron is sprinting in iine' stylo .at present, and ■with favourable conditions should record a very fast-100 yards. -With Claridge, ;Lindsay, Blakeleys -;Hix-Trott, Murrul 1, Leask, and others, there will be plenty of opposition to Cameron, and the pace will bo on all the way. It should be an exciting contest. Olympic representative Dave- Lindsay---is -now. approaching top form, so that he will lie seen to advantage in the 440 yards championship, but c.n-champions-in••, Glaridge- and--Gilham,. and the improving Blakeley and Rlx-Trott will see that the New Zealand champion is kept moving all the time. The' 100 yards ladies' championship will see another Olympic representative'and national champion in action—Miss K. Miller, -who will oppose the best of the local ladies. For those who like the spectacular, the diving championship 'will prove popular, as will also the exhibition to be given. Intermediate and junior trials will also be swum, as will other interclub events, the whole programme providing a fine afternoon's sport. . Doors will, open at 2 p.m.
