POTATO CROPS RUINED
Two farmers residing on the banks of tho Manawatu River near Whirokino suffered severely as a. result of the recent' flood. One had five acres of potatoes in and tho other in the vicinity of three acres. The water completely inundated, both farms, ruined tho potato crops, and forced, the occupants of both housed to leave the properties. When they were able to return it wns a'very desolate spectacle that presented itself. Farms, covered for as far as the eye could see, with nothing but silt. ' .
