MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. E. Page, S.M., dealt with police cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day. A plea of not guilty was entered by Claude Alexander Basil Martin, a hairdresser, aged 43, who was convicted on a charge of stealing a pair of gold-rimmed i spectacles valued at £1 17s 6d, the property of Samuel Jones. The accused, who had a list of twelve previous convictions, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. ' » A further remand until to-morrow was granted in the ease of David Leslie Morris, a clerk, aged 23, who is charged with, tho alleged theft of a gold watch chain, a gold locket, and two watches, of a total value of £19 10s, the property of Alexander Thompson.
