ROTORUA, This Day. Mr. C. H. Clinkard, the United Party candidate, opened his campaign at the King's Theatre last night. There was a large and appreciative audience. The speaker followed Sir Joseph Ward's Auckland speech and accused the Government of extravagance in hydroelectric schemes. He favoured Sir Joseph's borrowing measures and advocated land settlement. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried by acclamation.
