A gentleman visiting some relatives in Scotland was persuaded to try a game of golf. At his first stroke he aimed a terrific^blow at the ball, scattering the turf to right and left. "What have I hit?" he asked,' looking round for the result. . : "Scotland, sir," answered the caddie.
