The following forecast was Issued at 0 a.m. to-day for the ensiiins 24 hours:— Winds—Moderate to strong northerly winds, reaching gale force in places. Barometer—Falling generally. Seas—Rough about Foreaux Strait; clsewhero smooth to moderate, but rising shortly in New Zealand waters. Tides—Good generally. Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at all warning stations. Weather— Mainly fair though cloudy at first, but unsettled conditions gradually developing, and general rain probable. Mild temperatures, but a cool change later in the southern half of the South Island.
