THREE KILLED
MOTOR-SHIP EXPLOSION CYLINDER COVER BLOWS OFF "Times" Cables. (Eeceived 16th October, 2.15 p.m.) LONDON, 15th October. The Berlin correspondent of "The Times'' reports that three were killed and twenty injured by an explosion on the 19,500-ton moton-ship Kingsholni during her trials off Heligoland. ' A' cylinder cover blew off and tore a metal plate three metres wide from the deck and hurled it thirty feet to seaward. Tugs towed the Bhip to Cuxhaven. The Kingsholm is one of six new motor-ships which are being constructed for the- Swedish Amerika Line's North Atlantic passenger service. Two were entrusted to German yards, but the owners stipulated that the Danish firm of Burmeister. and Wain supply the engines.
