POLISIH UPHEAVAL
United Service WARSAW, 14th October. A general strike has been proclaimed at Lodz, following the strike of 200,000 textile workers. Communists apparently plentifully supplied with funds arc arriving at Lodz from throughout Poland. Crowds assembled round the prisons demanding the rclcaso of political prisoners. A state of emergency has been declared, and the military are taking, special precautions.
