'■ The Motor Show, now being held at Olympia, haß emphasised the need for more space. Congestion of thoroughfares between the stands has, however, interfered with the comfort of spectators rather, than with the business done, and salesmen express satisfaction with the inquiries received and the orders booked. Ketailers ,aro convinced that a boom year is before them. Four makers of low-priced cars are arranging for production programmes of 70,000, 50----000, 30,000, and 30,000 vehicles respectively. For medium-powered car manufacturers have also received large orders, and luxury and sporting models, particularly the latter, are in heavy demand. It is estimated that 250,000 pleasure and commercial vehicles will be manufactured during 1929 in Britain.
