DIAMOND SMUGGLING
ARRESTS IN SOUTH AFRBCA Australian Press Association—United Sa rvlc» CAPETOWN, 13 th October. The Government has seized la rge quantities of diamonds smuggled fi'om Namagualand State diggings, the-seiz-ure being followed by five arrests. It is reported that the diamonds were obtained from the natives. Their estimated value is £70,000. Numbers of illicit diamonds have reached Europd. A trade crisis is feared.
