DOWAGER-EMPRESS OF RUSSIA
Australian Press Association—United Service. COPENHAGEN, 13th October. The death is announced of Marie, Dowager Empress of Russia, sister of the late Queen Alexandra, aged 81. The former Dowager-Empress of Russia, who was a daughter of the late King Christian of Denmark, was married in 1866 to Alexander 111., and was the mother of Nicholas 11., who abdicated in 1917 when the revolution broke out, and was later assassinated.
